SSW about 800 miles I guess. It's about a 15 hour drive, maybe up to 24
depending on traffic, or an hour and a half by air. If you fly THY (They Hate
You) airlines it might even be a shorter trip. I think all the THY pilots are
reserve fighter pilots and keep in practice making combat landings in
airliners. I live in Athens so check a map for exact measurments. Last time I
was in Turkey was about 10 years ago when I was on temporary duty at Incirlik
Air Base in Southern Turkey just outside Adana. Could have taken the entire
population of the suburb I live in here and dropped them in Adana and you
really wouldn't have noticed the difference, other than language, that much.
Same hospitable people.
Orthodox Easter is at the end of April this year and since you're in the area
anyway make sure to visit Greece. It's the best time Greece for outstanding
food and drink. Carnival just started here a couple of days ago and we're
having fun!
Contact me off list Phil and I'll send you my address and phone number.
