Do you have statistical data for state/regional consumption in the USA that
you can share with the group or off-line. If you have some raw data, send
it to me and I will create a table and graphs to present to the group. I
have seen some figures in the past were New York accounts for about 45% of
the overall olive oil consumption in the states. From the turn of the last
century, Italian-Americans from New York were the first importers.

In actuality, the metro region of New York City has a per capita consumption
of in excess of four times the national average making it the largest
consumption market in the US. Both San Francisco (#5) and LA are in the top
ten markets so perhaps California as a state might rank ahead of Metro New
York but I would have to check the figures.
