Eric,

Check http://www.onelist.com/shareddir/OliveOil/ you will find a folder
called Statistics. Click on it and you will see some of the statistics as
far as annual consumption trends per certain olive oil developing countries
and their per capita consumption. These were listed in the past on this
forum. Anymore information you might have and want to share will be great.

Certainly the internet will play a major role in trade not only for olives
and olive oil, but for everything else from A to Z. According to the 1998
fourth-quarter report by Intelliquest, 79.4 million Americans are online
alone. Check this web site for internet statistics
http://www.cyberatlas.com/

In a couple of years, the biggest internet access providers will be the
cable companies. Then everyone will switch from a dial-in connection to a
full-time broadband cable connection a hundred times faster than the dial-in
(V.90) connection. At that time we will realize the great impact of the
internet on consumers. The internet stocks are already driving the USA
stock market here for the last year.

As far as Olives and Olive Oil I believe the opportunity is there for a
will organized company to be an Internet market leader. Just as Amazon.com
is a market leader in books, videos, and tapes.

Sincerely
Jamal Sadoun
