<pre>Dear All
I have spent the week with a computer application called Australia
Unfolded.
Looks like this Mediterranean stuff has been done before.
Without even trying two names popped out of the Maps
Seville!
and
Byzantyne!
A prize if someone can find Kalamata
Also the words are getting into the lingo - speaking to a Tasmanian
Olive Nurseryman today I asked which cultivars were the most suitable
for his area he indicated French varieties and those from Roma.
Immediately I thought of Roma Australia - scratching my head to work out
the connection - He then said Roma - Rome! I must say that was also
challenging because when I was in Rome last November, a good friend of
mine took me through and over the seven hills of Rome - where many of
the olives growing were Carboncella, Itrana and the ubiquitous Frantoio.
Come to think of it I have not found Frantoio on any Australian maps.
