<pre>Hi Liane
What's wrong with the English word "harvest"?
Vintage means something rather different, mainly because the year in which
the wine is produced is very pertinant to the quality, taste and flavour of
the wine as it matures over time.
The conditions of a particular year might well affect the quality etc of
olive oil, but you are stuck with it. Next year the oil will be worse.
Best regards
Judy

> In the Hunter Valley this years vintage has just begun. My dictionary has
several definitions for vintage, one of them being, 'the gathering of grapes
for winemaking'.

of olives for oil making'.
> I am not aware of a word in the English language, perhaps there is one or
perhaps there is in one or all of the Arabic, Italian, Greek or Spanish
languages.
