Regarding protein in olive oil - I did indicate negligible quantities.
Also olive pollen is an allergen causing mainly allergic rhinitis,
allergic conjunctivitis. However more severe reactions such as asthma
are possible. Recently I visited an olive grower in South Australia who
suffers from olive pollen allergy. During the pollen season she cannot
live on the farm.
Regarding application of oils - there are many compounds present that
can act as sensitisers - and there are several forms of allergic
reactions other than the classic protein induced reaction. This comment
will be picked up by medical readers in the group.
