When I delve in the past when I was making soaps - I found potassium
hydroxide gave a better quality soap. Potassium Oleate rather than
sodium oleate.
This is a very interesting statement. KOH makes liquid soap. NaOH makes
bar soap. You can't compare them directly. Which you prefer depends on
what you want the final product to be.
I'm getting lovely soaps from both (I make both bar and liquid soaps).
