<pre>Olive Oil Finally Joins the Carton Generation

Being a lover of olive oil in dark green bottles or ceramic jugs, and
somewhat conservative, I admit to being startled to read this squib in the NY
Times food section yesterday. But I'll give it a try, as I live near a
Fairway market in Manhattan.

Arte Oliva, a warmly herbaceous extra virgin olive oil from Spain, is a
packaging pioneer. Its liter box is lighter than a liter bottle and protects
the oil from light, which can cause it to spoil. It is packaged without
oxygen, another cause of spoilage.

Snip off the corner seal and a little pouring spout is created. This olive
oil is suitable for many uses and has a modest price, $6.99. It is sold at
Fairway markets.
