My name is Paul Croucher and have recently moved back to NZ after
getting into olives and olive R&D while in Australia. Together with
family, I have set up a little company which soley assembles and
distributes free-fatty-acid testing kits. I realise it is a bit
cheeky posting an ad here but there seems to be some demand for these
kits and it is difficult to find them as they are not marketed hard.

These kits are a little fishing-box sized kit which you use to
quantify the amount of free fatty-acid in your oil. After
successfully using this test you can be confident of your claim that
the batch tested is extra-virgin. Of course first pressing does not
ensure extra-virgin status!

The kit is probably not much use to the big companies as they will
have expensive on-line testing facilities. However for smaller
producers it may be quite useful. We sell these for NZ$300 + GST +
P&P. (At 1NZD = 0.85 AUD thats about AUD $255 + GST + P&P). We are
also happy to provide technical assistance via e-mail or phone if
