As a new subscriber, am I in the right place as all I can see is discussion on
AOA, IOOC.
I like to enquire about 3 subjects.
1) Storage of Olive Oil
2) Retention time prior to filtering
3) Filtering.
1) I am advised that 15deg C is ideal storage temperature. eg. I have 6 samples
of Oil on a bench all Correggiola from 4 growers early/later etc, all display
different property from clear to cloudy to solid state store at appr. 7degs C in
our shed.
2) Retention time, it appears different cultivars require longer times.
3)Filtering. For small volumes of olive oil surgical cotton wool is all right.
Plate filter are a viable alternative but can be messy and you also have some
product loss.
Cartridge filter cheaper than plate filter, very little loss of product, but
what size of cartridge in microns.
