E: Yellowing leaves

<pre>Hello Trudy
It's not possible to diagnose a problem online but there are a number of
situations that can cause similar symptoms. I don't know where you are or
what management you have applied to the trees etc.
In South Australia in autumn to winter we often get some sucking insects
causing similar symptoms from the under side of the leaf. One such insect
is similar to the Rutherglen bug but we have never identified these insects,
merely treated them according to broad spectrum insecticides where
appropriate or even biological oils.
The other possibility is related to root health I.e. Phytopthera/Pythium.
Bronzing and general chlorosis is common in this situation.
I have seen similar symptoms from Phosphorous deficiency and even Sprayseed
damage to green trunks.
I must stress that you need a consultant Agronomist to inspect the trees to
find the cause before you attempt to treat them. Online we can only guess
or hint as to where the source of the problem is.
I am leaning towards sucking insect damage myself but the photos aren't
clear enough.
There could possibly be a consultant in the discussion group from your area.

Cheers

Subject: [OliveOil] Yellowing leaves

I have been off the site for a while and have just rejoined.

See the 3 photos under Hollinshead on the group site. Leaves are
generally yellowing, which then moves to branches and finally the tree
defoliates because it vannot photosynthesise. Leaves are also getting
yellow spots on them as can be seen in the photos.

Can anyone advise what this is so we can remedy please?

Trudy
