International Olive Oil Festival selects Fort Lauderdale as host city
Festival scheduled for March 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -March 26th, 2007, Fort Lauderdale, FL. - The International Olive Oil Festival, March 8-9, 2008 has selected Fort Lauderdale as its host city. The event will feature over 250 different brands of olive oil from Italy, Greece, France, Israel, Chile, Argentina, Morocco, Spain, France, Turkey, and the United States.
Complimentary products such as tomatoes, pesto, pasta, wine, truffles, vinegars, olives, tapas, cosmetics, breads, and organic food products. In addition to food sampling, the event will feature live music, dancing, cooking demonstrations, an olive oil tasting competition, a recipe contest. Additionally International sporting demonstrations such as Italian olive pit spitting, Israeli krav maga demos, Turkish olive oil wrestling and belly dancing.
The City of Fort Lauderdale was selected over five other possible venues due to its weather, strategic international business location, and supportive response from the city and local sponsors. The War Memorial Auditorium was chosen because it offers 20,000. square feet of newly renovated indoor exhibitor space, unlimited outdoor exhibitor space and an elevated stage for live performances.
