Cato

<pre>I have been reading Cato on farming (in translation not the
original latin!). For those not up to speed on Latin writers Cato wrote his
farming book about 2200 years ago and was one of the first Latin authors.
He mentions the use of the watery liquid from olives after the separation
of the juice into oil and water. He claims it is an excellent insecticide
among other things and can be used to treat granaries to prevent insect and
mouse damage. Does anyone know if this has been checked out? Have any
experiments been carried out on its effect?
Cheers Brian Chatterton
