RE: Olive book.

Bravo Brian, good luck with your book. By the way, where in S.A. did your
family farm?

Regards,

Phil

RE: Olive book.

Brian,

Perhaps a FAQ on a simple web site might do the trick.

Add in contact details for all those on this list that want details to be
shown and perhaps an advertisement section where members could trade.
Pad it out with lots of olive type photos from members. The manager of the
website would only need to add/modify/delete information according to
categories without a Hansard (only got to the first chapter my self) style
approach.

Regards,

PhilB

Re: Olive book.

Now this is getting just a bit parochial folks. I appreciate that Oz/NZ
folk account for >30% of suscriber membership (of those - 50 respondents
only - who bothered to vote) but that is only a significant minority after
all. What is this Hansard; hands hard? Some peculiar condition affecting
olive growers? Olive harvesters? Some idiosyncratic [insert nationality]
trait associated with idiopathic tendencies?

And a most warm welcome Steve.

Olive book.

Having just written an olive book with two authors I don't fancy
your chances with 100? ....200?

The web page/dats base sounds a good idea but still requires a lot
of editing. Sadoun do you have the time? Ephemerals (such as this) need to
be trashed. Messages that use "reply" need to be edited and keywords
entered.

There is also the problem of recording for posterity. Will people
become wordy and pompous? Has anyone read Hansard? I cannot think of
anything worse than a Olive Hansard.

We have a lot of computer whizzes on the list. Can they come up
with any ideas of personal scrapbooks (personal data base would sound more
serious) where people can write their own olive books using the material
they think is relevant?

Cheers Brian Chatterton.

Olive book.

Many thanks for all the kind messages about our forthcoming olive book. We
were grapegrowers, winemakers etc. at Lyndoch in the Barossa valley before
moving to Italy. We will keep you posted.

Cheers Brian Chatterton.
