that we plan to import from Italy for sale in the United
States. My question is this: Is it best to set up a UPC
code now and integrate it into the label? We do not yet
have distribution established. Will most distributors want
this on the label or will they handle it? Any thoughts

If you wish to sell your product to supermarkets in the USA, you would be ahead of the game if you had a UPC code for your product. Most stores in the USA will not accept your product without a bar code.
