<pre>My wife and I restored a 100+ years old olive oil press on a Greek island
near Athens for a residence. All the original equipment was retained and
refurbished, including its vertical stone wheel,with its wood mounting,
axle and base stone, an 8 foot high cast iron screw press, vertical
windlass, horse hair bags, furnace, indoor cistern, metal-lined wooden
trays, and the original small implements such as pouring cans, funnel, etc.

The equipment looks like it did when in operation and it still works --
the millstone for example, turned then by a pony, can be turned by hand --
but it is all now surrounded by living/dining room furniture in what is a
unique residence cum museum. The original double stonewalls were repointed
and strengthened, the tile roof replaced in kind. The old oil storage space
is a bedroom and bath, the utility room a kitchen. A guest room with
separate entrance, full bath and fireplace has been added (also with
exterior stone walls.)

The total of the original building is approx. 120 sq.mtrs, the addition 38
sm and the lot with garden space front and back about 725 sm with almond
trees, exterior cistern, landscaping etc. In a traditional stone village in
