Salicylates in EVOO ??
<table border=0 cellpadding=2 cellspacing="0"><tr><td>
<pre>Hi folk, I wonder if anybody can help me?? I was speaking with a small group of people today about the positive health properties of freshly pressed EVOO. A lady came up to me afterwards and told me her Dr or Dietician (I can't remember which) had told her not to use olive oil "because it contains salicylates".It is many years since I studied organic chemistry, and I didn't ask what her "condition" was, but I seem to remember that it was recommended people with kidney problems avoid taking Aspirin ( which is acetyl salicylic acid). Anyhow that is beside the point. Has anybody heard of EVOO containing " salicylates" , and , if so, which ones and at what levels?? Warwick Williams.
