When are oil olives harvested in your country?

For example in Jordan, olive is harvested between October 15, through December 31.

When are olives harvested?

The harvest in South East Queensland last year was early and we started in late February and continued through until late April. The flowering this year is ten days earlier than last year so it looks like a February start again. However, I may let the olives mature a little more than before as the oil was quite bitter.

Waiting a few more days also will yield MORE oil . Usually the best time to harvest is when the green olive "start" turning darker.

At my small press, earliest fruit arrives late March. Most harvesting is completed by late May although some of the "colder" places are sometimes still harvesting well into June.

2006 dates, for example -

First fruit to press - March 27
Last fruit to press - June 20
