Red face Introduction

My name is tylor and I joined this forum to learn production methods and understand the industry. I work for a company that builds and sells equipment and we are trying to get information for a project we are working on. We would like to take the system we use to harvest Citrus and adapt it in olives if possible. Thanks for the oportuinty to join.

olive harvesting

Sadounoliveoil

Thanks for the reply. I have only a short video on harvesting olives but the same machine is on our website at Oxbo International Corporation under Citrus products and it is the 3210 model. we also own Korvan equipment in Washington state that builds a machine for Grapes and it should would work well for the dwarf plantings. Thanks for your reply. We will be going to spain again soon to visit with grower oganizations about their needs and what types of plantings we may be dealing with. do you have dwarf trees planted?

Hello Cain,

welcome aboard the forum.

What are the tines in your machine built of? they need to be really flexible or else they will destroy the olive tree canopy.

I've seen an Brazilian adaptation of a coffee harvesting machine used for olive harvest and it didn't work at all. Because the tines weren't flexible enough and the did to much damaged to the trees.

It isn't an easy challenge the one you're taking. Olive trees have proven very hard to harvest mechanically. I wish you the best of luck.

Cheers,

Joćo Granja Correia
