<table border=0 cellpadding=2 cellspacing="0"><tr><td>
<pre>For those that may have missed the item Timbercorp, Australia's largest grower of bluegums, is entering the olive business. 300ha going in this Autumn (Mar-May) with a further 400ha next Spring (Sep-Nov). The land is just NW of Bendigo. Another site (350ha) near Swan Hill (about 2 hours from Bendigo) will be developed the following year. That's over a quarter of a million trees depending on density of planting. The main olive variety will be Barnea. According to the developers an agreement has already been reached with an un-named Italian olive producer to take the entire oil production. It was not stated where the Italian company intended to market the oil. 1st stage to be funded by private investors and latter stages by way of prospectus. </pre> </td></tr></table> |
