<pre>Dear Geraldine,
Thank you very much for the information. I know the area around Opio
well from my stay in Juan les-Pins last year. I will certainly pay them
a visit.

<pre>Dear Peter,

Geraldine is right.

I am French, from the South although I now live into the Grand Duchy. Opio is
indeed were I would myself go to get good olive oil. I used to live there at one
time. Anyway, you can get the oil "normal" or "fruity" which has a stronger
taste. I used to take the normal kind and flavor it further with very potent
spices. Fiery but ever so good....

Dear Peter,

There is a place on the french Riviera called "Opio". It is near
Valbonne: close to Nice and Cannes.
They have a beautiful olive mill and make a delicious olive oil.
It is owned by the family "Michel" who is also the mayor of the little
town. They are not very friendly,
but the oil is so good, it is worth going.

<pre>Peter (and others)

Here are a couple of what appear to be relevant web sites for touring
Provence in search of olive oil. Unfortunately I can't recommend based on
personal knowledge - I discovered olives some time after I had left France
- however this is almost <le terroir de Mort Rosenblum>, so the olive
experience covered in these sites is bound to be fantastic.
