Peter, It's taken awhile to get back to you on this, sorry.
My thoughts on the NewMed comments are that some people don't recognise are very
clever marketing tool when they see one. Other than that no comment.
Cheers, good luck this weekend (sorry that I got it wrong)
Martin

<pre>Dear All

I have spent the week with a computer application called Australia
Unfolded.

Looks like this Mediterranean stuff has been done before.

Without even trying two names popped out of the Maps

Seville!

and

Byzantyne!

A prize if someone can find Kalamata

Also the words are getting into the lingo - speaking to a Tasmanian
Olive Nurseryman today I asked which cultivars were the most suitable
for his area he indicated French varieties and those from Roma.
Immediately I thought of Roma Australia - scratching my head to work out
the connection - He then said Roma - Rome! I must say that was also
challenging because when I was in Rome last November, a good friend of
mine took me through and over the seven hills of Rome - where many of
the olives growing were Carboncella, Itrana and the ubiquitous Frantoio.

Come to think of it I have not found Frantoio on any Australian maps.
