"RotaPicka" Hand Held Harvesting Machine

Telorquip Machinery Pty Ltd has just been appointed exclusive
distributor for Australiasia for the "RotaPicka".Telorquip Machinery
Pty Ltd is a small Brisbane Australia, based family company that has
been marketing specialised equipment to the Grain industry for some 6
years. We have diversified, but have tried to retain the specialised
nature of our company.
Because we were looking to diversify we were interested to hear some
comments in the field concerning a need for some light, easy to use
hand harvesting method.

Some research produced a product which my wife and I decided had some
prospect and imported a unit to get further veiws from potential
users.

We have been trailing the "RotaPicka" Hand Held Harvesting Machine in
Australia for some 7 months. As the unit arrived towards the end of
the 2000 harvest we had little to trial in on. Some larger trees with
ripe fruit came to light in the Murgon area, and with some assistance
from local growers Bob & Jenny Steel, we did some limited trails.
These short trials impressed all that saw them. The features that
people were looking for were a lightweight machine 4kg, easy to use,
little damage to either tree or fruit.

The "RotaPicka" has been manufactured since 1982, and is sold in most
Mediteranian Olive Growing regions. The factory produces between
5,000 and 6,000 units each year between January and June.We will
drawn from 2000 build stock units for this harvest.

The "RotaPicka" is a Rotary Head unit using a small electric motor to
drive the "T" shaped Head. This head is fitted with soft rubber
fingers that rotate amongst the tree and bump the fruit causing them
to fall dowm on to a Catching Table. Because of the rotary motion of
the head, when used as reccommended all the fruit are directed down
and are not flicked in all directions.

The power to operate this Electric motor is provided by a small
Petrol powered generator supplying a regulated 12 volts. The supply
has a regulator to give variable speeds on the Head. This Power unit
can operate 1, 2 or 3 Rods or Heads.

For a small investment of $2,400.00 including GST, you could own a
very simple, easy to use, effective harvesting unit that will save
time and money during your harvest. If you harvested by hand in 2000
and feel that you need an easier and quicker method for the 2001
harvest, I would urge you to make contact as soon as possible as we
will be importing a limited number this year.

The "RotaPicka" is an ideal unit for use with the "Catchsortable"
collection Table. This is a lightweight table made in Australia and
designed for use to meet the Olive Care quality standards being
introduced into the industry.

For further information on the "RotaPicka" and / or the Catchsortable
Table contact Terry or Lorna Griffiths on 07 3245 6082, Fax 07
32451340 or Email: nedkar@ozemail.com.au.

Hand held harvesting machines

Hi, I'm wondering how things have progressed since you first posted information about the RotaPicka? I will have a decent crop for the first time next year, and am looking for information on available hand held pickers/rakes. Looking forward to any replies.

Thanks

Marina
