Brian where does var. Pendolino come in your estimation as regards
hardiness? Also, should I worry about the odd crack I notice having developed through the summer on Pendolino trees [15 yr. old] usually running from ground level to, say, 25 cms up the trunk which, at its widest, might be one centimetre?
