I suppose most of you have received second announcement of the 5th International
Symposium on Olive Growing and the 9th issue of newsletter of ISHS-Olive Culture
Working Group (F15) or you had opportunities to read them in the web page:

I would like to inform you that we are trying to do our best for this symposium.
We are planning to organize a full scientific program and social activities
during the symposium. In addition, from the commercial and technological point
of view, an international fair/exhibition on olive and olive oil is already
planned. There are several companies from all over the world which already
applied to attend to this program. With these activities, scientists and
researchers will have opportunities to meet with the people in the commercial
area and technology-developing companies.

As you know, there are a few international organizations on olive and olive oil.
These are ISHS-Olive Working Group (F15), FAO-Olive Networks (ESCORENA and
AARINENA) and IOOC. We are planning to do a workshop with attendance of these
organizations that the problems and the future projections of olive and olive
oil will be able to discussed at the top level. The objectives of this program
is to further improve international co-operation in the scientific area and
commercial work, as well as the exchange of knowledge of sociological,
economical and educational issues. The details will be announced soon in the web
page.

Apart from these activites pre-symposium optional technical tour and optional
technical + touristic tour are programmed. In spite of the change in the place
of the congress, the main concept of these tours which was announced in the
first announcement was not changed. Please follow the web page for details.

I would like to inform you about deadline for abstract submission: 1st of May
2004.
