Damian Conlan

<pre>NSW (Au) members will be already aware, but I thought it important to notify the rest of the membership of this list, of the passing of Damian Conlan, Saturday morning last. Damian was a staunch supporter of olive growers in the state, a well respected "authority" on the horticulture of olives, and an especially nice bloke. He was also a "lurker" on this list, emerging from time to time to advertise his courses and to add to discussions. His enthusiasm, depth and breadth of knowledge of olive systems, and his willingness to dispense this knowledge widely will be sorely missed by growers in NSW. Typical of the man, he was preparing to commence one of his trademark courses on olive oil quality (along with Richard Gawel and others) at the time of his death, from a massive heart attack. Damian's passing will be a great loss to all those who knew him. R.I.P. John Attwood Co-moderator Tamworth NSW (Au) </pre> </td></tr></table> |

<pre>Not only was Damain Conlan a marvelous source of information and technical expertise he was unique in that he was a really nice guy, a pleasure to be with, and his passing away so early in life seems so unfair and unjust. He will be sorely missed by all those whom he had dealt with. Thanks for advising us John Roger Farquhar </pre> </td></tr></table> |
