olive oil and its health benefits

<table border=0 cellpadding=2 cellspacing="0"><tr><td>
<pre>I have just joined the group and would like to introduce myself. I have a
30 year background of research into the role of fats and oils in the
maintenance of health.

I have recently self published a booklet "Olive Oil: Everything You Would
Like to Know" (around 5000 words) written with the consumer in mind and
containing sections on grades, chemical composition, quality, refining,
storage, contaminants and adulterants, health benefits, and labelling. It
was written with some input from retailers who thought that there was a
need for a booklet to promote the sale of olive oil. I have had positive
feedback from consumers. Does anyone know someone who may be interested in
such a booklet?

I would also like to write a book specifically on the health benefits of
olive oil and am looking for a possible publisher. Does anyone know someone
who may be interested in such a book?.

You can find out more about my background at www. megistioils.com.

<pre>If it is intended to educate both the retailer and the consumer then It
should indeed have a good sized market. I would love t0o get my hands on a
copy - any distributor in NZ yet?

>Dear John,

Sorry I did not get back to you earlier. No, there is no distributor in
New Zealand. It is actually a booklet rather than a book. When I wrote it,
I had envisaged that retailers such as gourmet shops, supermarkets, health
food shops etc may have been interested in either giving it away as part of
their promoting olive oil, or perhaps selling it for a nominal amount. I
had also thought that olive grower cooperatives might have been interested.
Certainly the small number I printed is uneconomic for me. However, with a
larger number ie 5000 copies or more, it can be produced for less than A$2.
If you are interested, I could send you a copy. What is your address?
