RE: Cost Per Acre/Hectare? Country Stats?
Rory,
Land in Queensland, Australia is not too expensive. As with everywhere else in the world, you get what you pay for. I have my trees on land which although advertised by the estate agents as "arable" is only so in the best of seasons. Our problem might be that we are supposed to hot have wet summers, we have had only one such summer in the 11 years we have been here! RE: Cost Per Acre/Hectare? Country Stats?
Dear all,
It seems that to many, olive oil is a liquid gold. This sound very attractive, especially to the very new starter who would like to invest in such a business. I would just like to highlight that beware of people who are using olive investment as a means of selling lands in Australia. I have a personal encounter with one of such person, and to my knowledge, more than 10 people had purchased his land. Like all businesses, olive investment must provide a gain in the end and not just the planting of olive trees. Many have still not release this yet. I would like to suggest to those who are new and wishing to purchase land, to invite an olive consultant to survey the land before any official signing of purchase documents. Beware! David
Just looked at your website and I marvelled at the enthusiasm revealed in the photos. May it continue with you as with me. I note also your posting regarding charlatans in the industry. There are many of course in your country (NZ) as well as ours (Aust) plus, no doubt many other countries. The snake oil merchants abound but it is really only hard bloody work that will get us the returns. And not at the 25% rate often quoted in the prospectus.
