This e-mail newsletter lets you know about current events and promotions. The courses and programmes planned for the first six months of next year will give producers and marketers of olives and olive oil the competitive advantage as the industry expands, and it becomes much more difficult to sell your product. Aside from increasing product knowledge and assessment skills, participants also take advantage of networking opportunities. Participants in the programme learn to taste and assess table olives from around the world, as well as join the expanding Savantes Network. The Savantes Programme gives those producing commercial table olives the knowledge, skills and network to gain the commercial advantage. Commercial Table Olive Processing Courses in New Zealand ======================= CORE (Commercial Olive Research) has launched new dates for the "Opportunities for Table Olive Processing in New Zealand" one-day courses, to be held in New Zealand in February next year. Linda Costa and Simon Field will present the course. Linda Costa's expertise includes table olive factory design, processing, new product development and marketing. The course programme includes: -Opportunities in the Table Olive Industry - Simon Field - Different Styles of Table Olives - Linda Costa - Understanding the Processing of Table Olives - Linda Costa - Different Olive Products - Linda Costa - Tasting Table Olives - Linda Costa - Open Discussion The course will be held in Auckland (Feb 5th), Palmerston North (Feb 7th), Blenheim (Feb 9th) and Christchurch (Feb 11th). An early booking discount is available for the course until January 11th, and places are limited. Extra Virgin Olive Oil Savantes: Melbourne ======================= 6th - 8th June International Olive Oil Expert Judy Ridgway will return to Melbourne in June to present an Extra Virgin Olive Oil Savantes Qualifier and Refresher Course. Participants will not only learn about olive oils, assessment and production, but will also taste and assess the best of the new season Northern Hemisphere olive oils. Extra Virgin Olive Oil Savantes: Auckland ======================= 28th - 30th June New Zealand will become the third country to host an Extra Virgin Olive Oil Savantes Qualifier Course in June next year. Extra Virgin Olive Oil Savantes: Cape Town ======================= 27th - 29th July The first Extra Virgin Olive Oil Savantes Qualifier Course was run in Johannesburg last month - the next Qualifier Course and Refresher Course will take place in Cape Town in May 2004. Those processing and using extra virgin olive oil will be able to improve their knowledge and assessment skills, as well as become part of the Savantes Network, which includes members from Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, England and South Africa. Information about the programme and a register of interest is available from www.savantes.com/savantes Blending With The Best ======================= Melbourne 10-11th June Auckland 1- 2nd July Blending olive oils is an art and essential to achieving the differentiation, quality, consistency and price necessary to establish and maintain an extra virgin olive oil brand in the marketplace. International olive oil and blending expert Judy Ridgway will present the inaugural professional blending programme, 'Blending With The Best' in Melbourne and Auckland in 2004.
