RE: Oil from Umbria
Can olive oil from single varieties be produced rather than blending from
different varieties? I am thinking along the lines of the wine industry with certain grapes standing alone on their flavour and taste. Could one produce a Frantoio extra virgin olive oil or must single varieites be blended? Hope to get some feedback on this question. Oil from Umbria
Why Tuscan olive oil? The famous names around Lucca do lots of blending
with oils from other parts of Italy and all over the Mediterranean. If you want a genuine oil try one of the small producers. To get a list of names try Mario Stella, Town Clerk, Comune of Montegabbione (TR) - email address comunemg@tin.it Cheers Brian Chatterton. Last edited by johnat : May 8th, 2006 at 05:17 AM. |
