Southern Hemisphere New Season Extra Virgin Olive Oils
<table border=0 cellpadding=2 cellspacing="0"><tr><td>
<pre>The Top Twenty - Promoting the Southern Hemisphere Top Olive Oils A stand in the centre of the southern hemisphere's leading fine food show, Fine Food Australia in Sydney, will be promoting the best extra virgin olive oils from the southern hemisphere. Fine Food Australia, which is being staged at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre from 9-12 September 2003, is visited by over 20,000 food industry buyers and distributors. The Southern Hemisphere New Season Top Twenty Extra Virgin Olive Oils will be selected by culinary experts in Sydney and Melbourne from entries expected from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The judges will select the best entry from each of the three participating countries, and the best of the best will be awarded Southern Hemisphere New Season Extra Virgin Olive Oil of The Year. In addition to the launch at Fine Food Australia, a buying guide containing a page on each of the Top Twenty olive oils will be launched at dinners in Melbourne and Sydney in the lead up to the Sydney exhibition. The New Season Extra Virgin Olive Oil Top Twenty has come at a time when the new waves of locally produced olive oils are coming into the market in all three countries. New oils are trying to establish brand recognition and vying for a share of the well-established retail market, currently supplied through imports. Southern Hemisphere New Season Extra Virgin Olive Oils Top Twenty goes beyond the technical assessment of extra virgin olive oils and assesses their marketability. Exposure at Fine Food Australia will promote the olive oils and give the producers a great opportunity to research the market for their products. Olive oils entered must be classified as extra virgin to the International Olive Oil Council Standards.
