Root Depth

<pre>How deep do my roots grow? I know the only way to find out is to dig them up but really do not fancy doing that, just a general answer would be fine. From what I have read I am lead to believe that olives propagated from cuttings are shallow rooted. But what are we talking about here? Half a metre, one metre, or more? One article in the Australia Olive Grower suggest 1.5m but that surprises me a tad. The trees are in a heavy clay soil that has been ripped before planting.
