Root Depth

<pre>How deep do my roots grow? I know the only way to find out is to dig
them up but really do not fancy doing that, just a general answer
would be fine.

From what I have read I am lead to believe that olives propagated
from cuttings are shallow rooted. But what are we talking about here?
Half a metre, one metre, or more? One article in the Australia Olive
Grower suggest 1.5m but that surprises me a tad. The trees are in a
heavy clay soil that has been ripped before planting.
