Dear Megan

The Barnea oil, we tasted, was from 3 year old trees, approximately 4
meters high with a big canopy in South Australia. I am not an expert on
tasting, so I cannot give any qualifications. The oil was mild and slightly
peppery and didn't have the greasy aftertaste as some olive oils can have.
Based on this we decided to go for the Barnea trees, of course also because
we were impressed by the growth rate. If you want to blend this oil, it
should be very easy to do so. I think Barnea is an excellent choice.

Michel

<pre>Koroneiki Oil

From Crete - considered to be one of the best in the world. Intensley
fruit bit well balanced with pungency and bitterness.

A koroneiki oil from Sitia Crete won the Mario Solinas Award of the
international IOOC competition in 2001.

Great for small groves - pick with mechanical rakes

Barnea oil - I agree - fruity mild. Trees just of Perth are doing well.
I have also pickled some barnea olives. Just waiting for them to
process.

<pre>Peter,
Firstly, congratulations on the number of awards you gathered at the 6th
AOA EVOO show.

Second, I note that there were a few other Barnea products in the list
of winners (it is available at the AOA site).

Re: Barnea

<pre>Brian

I understand a lot of the Barnea has ended up in various pockets within
Australia and some has been shipped overseas. One Barnea/Picual blend from
Boundary Bend picked up a Highly Commended ticket in Italy a couple of months
ago. There is not a lot about as yet but next season is looking promising.

Interestingly, as I have previously posted, same age Barnea and Frantoio under
the same growing condition has Frantoio out-producing Barnea on 4 year old
trees.

The show season in Australia is now completed with all results now in. For
those who are interested I have posted our modest collection on our website.
While there you might want to click on the Analysis page. Our polyphenols have
gone through the roof this year and our FFA's are all below 0.17%. The oil
tastes great too.

Judy Ridgway's new book "Best Olive Oil Buys Around The World" is now available
in Australia (released last week) and can be purchased from our website for
$47.50. It features more than 100 oils from all parts of the world. There have
been 8 Australian producers selected including us. In the 5 star system Judy
employs, our 1 year old Manzanillo gained 4.5 stars while our 1 year old
Frantoio gained 4.

<pre>Hi Anthony,
We are extremely pleased with our Barnea that were planted
Sept. 2000. We harvested approx. 10kg/tree this year and the oil is extremely
well balanced and has become the cornerstone of our blend this year. The yield
was in excess of 20%.
