Re: Olive Varieties

<table border=0 cellpadding=2 cellspacing="0"><tr><td>
<pre>Hello All,

Bouteillan - (Boutillan)
oil variety
French Languedoc
good adaptation to irrigation
high wield in oil
demands frequent light pruning

Lucques - (Lecqure)
Table variety used exclusively for the production of green table olives
French Languedoc
demanding in soil, irrigation and cultural practices

Verdial - (Verdale)
This are a group of varieties with their origin in the southwestern
part of the Iberian Peninsula (Portugal’s Beira Baixa and Alentejo; and
Spain’s Extremadura and Andalucia).
They produce big fruits that can be used has table olives or for oil
production producing a high wield of good quality oil. In general,
these are rustic varieties that have a high tendency to alternate
production.

The other two I am unable to identify them, by their names I would say
that their booth Italian varieties (Arezzo and Lucca are two cities of
Tuscany). If I am able to figure out what they are I will let you know.

Regards,

Joao Correia

RE: Olive Varieties

OK, Good idea. It will be done! Just as soon as I can! Look for it in the
"Links" page from the left hand menu.

Cheers (and thanks for the nudge!)
