Pomace vs Extra-Virgin Olive Oil For Soap ** And Where to Order Both
<table border=0 cellpadding=2 cellspacing="0"><tr><td>
<pre>Hi Betsy, We've been using pure extra-virgin olive oil for soap-making for a long time...also used pomace. I'd certainly like to learn what chemical components can be found in pomace that aren't in the original product. Being an ol' Kentucky boy myself (Todd County), I'm always willing to learn from "home folks." Butch Owen Ankara, Turkey PS: You can find Olive Oil in small quantities at the following URL http://www.libertynatural.com/index.html When you get there, click on "Product Menu" - then "Bulk Ingredients" - then "Fixed Oils." You can find Pomace in any sizes you want at http://www.creationherbal.com Click on their "On-Line Catalog" - then click on "Soap Making Supplies." ********************************************* Betsy wrote (with some snipping) I'm having trouble keeping up with the demand just from friends and word of mouth on my homemade olive oil soap! I think my volume is reaching the point that I need to get some prices on pomace oil. Due to storage limitations and my own physical limitations, I probably need to get it in 1 gallon (or similar) sized containers. (For those who aren't aware of this, the first pressing product is indeed what we want to eat, but there are chemicals in the second pressing product which make it much better for soapmaking. I don't need "the good stuff" by edible standards; I need the second pressing product.) Thanks! Betsy Packard Shelby County, KY USA </pre> </td></tr></table> |
