olive course
<table border=0 cellpadding=2 cellspacing="0"><tr><td>
<pre>Hello again I would like to make a brief announcement about an upcoming event in Wagga Wagga. Wagga Wagga Olive Centre and Murrumbidgee College of Agriculture are running an intensive three day course on olive production and processing with a focus on premium quality oil production from Friday 4 - Sunday 6 May. The course will address production factors which influence quality such as pest management, crop water management, weed management, pruning and training. We will look at harvest timing, harvesting, processing (niche and "industrial" scale) and chemical and organoleptic quality assessment. The course will be held in the Wine and Food Industry Training Centre at Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga. We will make use of the CSU Olive Variety Collection and feral trees, teaching laboratories and NSW Agriculture's olive oil testing service. The course will feature presenters such as Associate Professor Robert Spooner-Hart on IPM, Dr Rod Mailer on oil quality, Margaret Kirkby from Gwydir Grove on organoleptics and Wendy Ambler from Chalkers Crossing on Processor-Grower contracts It will be a great group learning and hands on event. For further information contact me on (02) 69512512 or email damian.conlan@agric.nsw.gov.au Regards Damian </pre> </td></tr></table> |
