scale on trees

<pre>does anyone have an organic remedy for an infestation of (black) scale? It seems
to have started about 3 weeks ago and is killing off extemity branches.

Standard 'white oil' will kill the scale pretty quickly. Throw in some
finely ground, boiled and filtered, olive leaf to preclude the development
of sooty mould too.

emulisfied vegetable oil. All you are doing by spraying the dreaded
creatures is starving them of air. Even though our organic people allow
white oil I still prefer to avoid same as they are petroleum based. I don't
want to be precious about it but I would prefer the organic basis always.
