WATER QUALITY

<pre>I am about to commence a new grove just off the Murray River flood plain.
Rainfall is about 550mm. A licence to sink a bore is available but I am told
the water quality is not good. I have no figures yet.

My question is, does anyone have any figures as to what would be an
acceptable level of salinity in irrigation water?

Also what are the best oil varieties to plant in such conditions?

I don't intend that the grove will be fully irrigated, but rather just
enough irrigation at the right time to top up moisture content.

I will appreciate any help.

Sil.
