Thank you sincerely for the congrats. Thanks also to the others who wrote
encouraging words of advice/comment. Among these are included:-

"All I can say is that you are fortunate that we did not enter our own oil
into the awards."
"I think Brando's butter tasted better"
"I still recall the winner a particularly fine oil , mine"
"Fabulous"
"You have come a long way in three years, in 1000 you might improve a bit"

The beauty of this forum is the free flowing nature of it. From whimsy to
serious, for novice or experienced. It's nice to know that we don't take
ourselves too seriously.

May the bees be with you beatifically.

Best regards

<pre>Hi Mike

I have handed your request on to the entry secretary and you should be
getting the information shortly. I'm really glad that you are going to enter
the olive oil show.

I was thinking - what sort of an olive oil industry is there in South
Africa. There have been attempts over the last 150 years to get one going in
Australia and it seems as though this is finally happening. I organised the
olive oil show as a means of educating both producers and the public about
the finer qualities of olive oil. If the situation is similar in South
Africa it would be interesting to hear about it.

In the back of my mind is the idea that if the two countries are in a
similar situation we could perhaps establish an international class in the
olive oil show in which we specifically compare olive oils from the two
regions. It seems to me that it could be a bit of fun and at the same time
it would promote both our products.

All the best
