Sousse
<table border=0 cellpadding=2 cellspacing="0"><tr><td>
<pre>Charles, I have just been in that general direction. Did not get to Sousse but was not far away at Sidi bou Zid where there are large irrigated olive plantations. Most interesting. They are taking a completely different tack to those in Australia or NZ. Will be most interesting to compare when the Oz and NZ ones come into full production (The SBZ ones are altready). Tunisia has expanded its dryland olives by an enormous amount over the last ten or fifteen years. If they don't watch out they will have an environmental crisis on their hands like the Spanish as landcare is not a high priority at present. watch out for the food! That deliciousTunisian food is being diluted for the "benefit" of tourists. </pre> </td></tr></table> |
